The current generation of high end consoles have many features and capabilities worthy of merit, but in the end, which one surpasses the other? In our humble opinion, the PS3 is our favourite. We wont go into the similarities here, but instead focus on the areas where the PS3 excels over and above the 360.

• Blu-Ray, as we predicted, and initial results seems to indicate (Tom's Hardware agrees with us ), will win the format battle and attain the majority standard status. This is good news, because it simply had the highest capacity of the two formats.

• Linux support, on the PS3, is a major feature for computer enthusiasts, and can turn the PS3 into an all-in-one computer entertainment centre. The possibility of a Digital Video Recorder recording television and video to the hard drive, plus internet, email, word processing, graphic, sound and video editing and other linux software like instant messaging and some free linux games makes the possibility factor compelling.
