IT Direct supports secure communications, and believes in the value of having security certificates available gratis - at no cost. We therefore support the StartCOM organisation, who is attempting to provide this important service to the world.

In order to get rid of the error in your browser, you have to add the StartCOM certificate to your browser.  You should not add an exception to your browser, this is not secure.

How to add the StartCOM certificate to your browser:

Firefox

  1. Click here --> StartCOM
  2. Click "Open" on the security warning box.open ssl
  3. Click "Install Certificate..."                                             import
  4. Click "Next >"                                                                                          Next
  5. Choose the radio button for "Place all certificates in the following store", then click "Browse" store
  6. Choose "Trusted Root Certification Authorities", then click "OK"                                   trust
  7. Click "Next >"                                                                                         next
  8. Click "Finish"                                                                                                  finish
  9. There might be a warning, which you should approve.                                  approve
